Get ready everyone to “MOVE IT, MOVE IT”!
Take a journey out of the Zoo and onto the stage with your favorite friends from the blockbuster DreamWorks film! The main attractions at the NYC Central Park Zoo – Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe and Gloria the Hip, Hip Hippo – have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. But not content to leave well enough alone, they let their curiosity get the better of them. With the help of hilarious Penguins they escape, set off to explore the world and end up in the wacky land of Madagascar! With its outlandish characters, adventures & upbeat score, the cast and the audience will be SMILING from ear to ear and dancing in the aisles!
C’VILLE JR IDOL 2017 (ages 4 yrs and up)
Join us for a fun celebration of songs, dances and trends from both the past & present which we guarantee will put a Smile on you face! You can register as a Judged Contestant or a Non Judged Contestant (all contestants are also in the Let’s GetH Chorus). But you don’t have to be a contestant to join the fun!! Just register for our Let’s Get Happy Chorus only.
This is our 10th season of C’ville Jr Idol and we are switching things up a bit! We are “Happy” to say that there will now be three Judged Age Divisions!!
2017 Judged Divisions:
-7 thru 9 yr old Age Division (Winner receives a Trophy & $75 Cash!)
-10 thru 12 yr old Age Division (Winner receives a Trophy & $100 Cash!)
-13 thru 15 yr old Age Division (Winner receives a Trophy & $125 Cash!)
Each Age Division will be limited to 6 Contestants – REGISTER SOON TO SECURE YOUR SPOT!
*The Judged Contestants will present their songs at our 90 min Friday night show.
Friday night will also feature fun group songs from our “Let’s Get Happy” chorus.
2017 Non Judged Solo & Duet Division:
For ages 4 yrs thru 18 yrs old (6 spots are available) The Non Judged Soloists & Duets and the 2016 Jr Idol Winners will present their songs at our Sunday 75 min results show along with more fun “Let’s Get Happy” chorus numbers and …(drum roll, please) THE RESULTS!!
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Cville JR. Idol 2017:
▪ “Let’s Get Happy” Chorus registration is open for children & teens ages 4 yrs thru 18 yrs old.
▪ Adults are also invited to participate.
▪ Rehearsals will be held weekly on Thurs. and/or Sun evenings.
▪ The shows are tentatively scheduled for Fri. Sept. 8th and Sun. Sept 10th

A Midsummer Night’s Dream
AUMC and Black Box Player’s are partnering this summer to bring you Shakespeare’s much loved comedy “A Midsummer Night’s Dream”
Girl meets boy… Girl falls in love with boy…. Girl loses boy when mischievous fairies intervene and make the boy fall for another girl. Girl wins boy back with the help of a little more fairy magic! This fun adaptation will be full of laughs, dancing and musical surprises making it the perfect chance to introduce even the youngest child to Shakespeare!
Performances are FREE and will be held nightly at 7:00 pm on Thursday July 27th thru Sunday July 30th and Thursday August 3rd thru Sunday August 6th in the Reed Room.
Dinner Theatre Information
“A Midsummer Night’s Dinner Theatre” will be held on Sat. Aug. 5th at 5:45 in the Fellowship Hall. Tickets for the Dinner Theatre are $7.00 for adults & $5.00 for childrens meal 12 yrs and under. The menu includes Fried Chicken*, Macaroni Salad, Baked Beans, Lemonade, Dessert. Children may choose from the main dinner or a hot dog & chips. *The Fried Chicken is from Wayside Deli.
