I’ve been happily married to my husband, Mike, for over 45 years. We have four children and six wonderful grandchildren all of whom have been and continue to be involved in BBP – both onstage and behind the scenes. We also have a beautiful Goldendoodle puppy, named Ruby, who we love so much.

I started Black Box Players in 1986 and have directed every show we have done since. But as well as directing, I also wear many different “hats”…including choreographer, costume designer and writer.

Once a year I team up with Burley Middle School Principal, Jim Asher, to write our  fall musical. Jim writes the music/lyrics and I write the script. Together we have done many fun shows including Charlotte’s Web,The Lion, Witch and the Wardrobe,  Alice in Wonderland,  Charlie and the Chocolate Factory,The Christmas Carol, Tom Sawyer and many more!

Writing has always been a passion of mine and along with the many scripts I have written, I have also  had two children’s books published: Penelope the Princess – a rhyming and beautifully illustrated book for young children – and “Fiona Fabulous O’Malley – One of a Kind” – a short chapter book for young readers. Both are available at Amazon.com.

Along with running BBP, I was the Head of the Drama Dept. at St. Anne’s-Belfield Upper and Middle School for several years and I’ve been a Realtor for over 25 years helping hundreds of clients find their perfect  home – including many BBP families. But even in real estate I manage to let my love for theatre shine through. My business card appropriately reads  –  “There’s No Place Like Home”!

In my “free” time I love watching sports – especially basketball and football, volunteering in various ways at my church and just spending lots of time with my family!

And speaking of “Family” that is exactly what BBP is – a huge family of actors, singers, rehearsal assistants, pianists, set designers, lighting designers, techies, seamstresses, concession workers, ushers and the list goes on and on! Thousands of people over the last almost 30 years who have shared their time and talents to help bring  live quality theatre productions to our community! I hope you will join our BBP family soon!
